"Inviting the World of Sports to Copenhagen"
Welcome to Copenhagen and many thanks to the International Archery Federation, the Danish Archery Federation, Sport Event Denmark and the sponsors who have made this exciting event possible at the beautiful and historic area at Nyhavn.
Copenhagen moves in a fast pace when it comes to attracting large international sports events. And the goal is clear: Copenhagen is to be the leading event-capital of Northern Europe!
One of the most spectacular sports events of the year in Denmark is the Archery World Cup Final in Copenhagen on September 26. In the old harbor district of Nyhavn, the World's 16 best archers will compete for World Cup medals. In a beautiful setting this event is definitely not to be missed.
When Copenhagen is hosting this spectacular sport event, the Archery World Cup Final, it is not just about the fascination of sports and the excitement about who will come out as the winner. For Copenhagen the Archery world cup is part of a bigger picture.
Copenhagen is a very active sports city and especially this year the city hosts many important sports events. The Archery World Cup Final will be the last event prior to the Olympic Session & Congress in Copenhagen and is chosen as the official opening sports event. This will make a great stage for the archery sport.
Copenhagen has in recent years attracted a number of international top sports events, including Taekwondo World Championships, UCI BMX Supercross World Cup, World Outgames, UEFA Council Meeting, FINA Open Water World Cup, all of them in 2009, as well as the UCI Road World Championship in 2011.
